LAKE ELSINORE, Riverside County — November 4, 2026. A narrow early margin in Lake Elsinore’s Measure T contest leaves the future of the city treasurer selection process unsettled pending additional ballots.
Preliminary numbers from the county
The measure asks whether the city treasurer should become an appointed office. The county’s preliminary percentages show 50.56% Yes and 49.44% No—a gap of just 1.12 percentage points among counted votes.
What these early results mean
This close result deserves particular caution. Election-night totals do not establish whether the proposed change has officially taken effect. Residents should review the measure’s text and subsequent Riverside County updates.
Riverside County reported that election-night counting had finished while an estimated 485,000 vote-by-mail ballots and 11,000 conditional-registration ballots remained to be counted countywide. Those countywide totals do not specify how many ballots are still outstanding in this particular contest. Check the registrar’s latest posting for changes before concluding who won or whether a measure passed.
